Promoting Entrepreneurship: First Retail Outlet supported by NERAMAC operationalized at Guwahati
The first of the 24 kiosks of NERAMAC across NFR railway stations was made operational at Kamakhya Railway Station in presence of Cmde Rajiv Ashok (Retd), MD NERAMAC. The kiosks will be run in collaboration with Major Ajit Singh (Retd), a Kargil war veteran, and founder Anant Foundation for innovation and Social Inclusion. They will retail processed products of the NER and be operated by women and persons with disabilities. The purpose of these stalls is to promote entrepreneurs of NER & meet the social cause of employment generation by direct and indirect means. Anant Foundation for Innovation and Social Inclusion, which is working closely with Meghalaya Basin Management Agency, under the flagship project of the CMO Meghalaya, FOCUS, will facilitate sale of value-added products of entrepreneurs from Meghalaya and producer groups of farmers formed under the FOCUS programme. This initiative is supported by @NERAMAC and Northeastern Frontier Railway. Anant Foundation for Innovation and Social Inclusion and Anant Learning and Development are also supported by IKEA Foundation and Ashoka under their "livelihoods for all project, aiming to generate 8000 livelihoods in the state through interventions in agri and allied sectors
